Family surprises Pittsburg resident with “roll-by” celebration on her 91st birthday

Pittsburg resident Lorraine Miller celebrated her 91st birthday on Thursday.
Because of COVID-19, she could not get together with her family, so they brought the party to her.
Lorraine’s family and friends lined up in their vehicles and drove down the street behind her house to wish her happy birthday. They had home-made signs, honked and sang happy birthday as they rolled by, and also dropped cards and gifts off in a box behind the house.
The family coordinated with Lorraine’s neighbor to make it happen.
“It’s all the kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren,” Lorraine says, fighting tears, “And I couldn’t touch any of them.”
“We knew Easter Sunday was a very hard day for her,” says Lorraine’s daughter Charlene, “We should have all been together…and there would have been at least 50 people”
