“Extremely large” amount of Fentanyl seized in two Joplin drug raids

JOPLIN, Mo. — Monday afternoon just before 1:30 p.m. Joplin SWAT assisted ODET (Ozark Drug Enforcement Team) serving a narcotics search warrant at 2304 W 4th in the Jefferson Neighborhood.

Commander Chad Allison states in a press release after further investigation ODET Detectives went to a different residence in the Blendville North Neighborhood, “served a second warrant at 1802 Picher in Joplin Missouri Jasper County.

  • ODET SEIZED EVIDENCE:
  • 2,639 grams THC Wax
  • 340 grams Cocaine
  • 115 grams Fentanyl pills
  • 73 grams of Marijuana
  • 2 firearms

A 25-year-old male was detained, pending charges through the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney.

  • Trafficking 1st (2X)
  • Delivery of a Controlled Subs.
  • Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

This was an extremely large amount of suspected Fentanyl that was seized and kept off the streets. Fentanyl overdoses have been extremely high this past year and has been the primary focus of the Task Force. It only takes a small amount of Fentanyl to make a person OD.” — Commander Allison
