Experts remind 4-State residents of firework safety

Some Safety Tips For Those Setting Off Fireworks This Summer.

JOPLIN, Mo. – As firework season approaches, experts remind residents to be safe and responsible while enjoying their roman candles, fountains, or mortars.

Because fireworks can be dangerous, experts warn people to never point a firework at anyone.

“We really encourage safety for all fireworks, not just the big ones. A lot of people don’t brace for the small ones,” said Becky Presley, Manager of Central City Fireworks. “It’s important for all of them, but maybe even more important for small fireworks than for large ones.”

Having a bucket or source of water is also important to avoid disaster.

Experts remind those celebrating to handle every firework with caution, even if you think there is no charge.
