“Accordion and Polka”
“Accordion and Polka” Join us this Sunday, January 26 at 2 p.m. at Miners Hall Museum in Franklin, KS for this special program. The program will be presented by Gene Corsini.
Mr. Corsini’s presentation will tell the story of the accordion and polka’s arrival in Southeast Kansas with the European immigrants, recall the artists and bands, and discuss some of the venues in which they played – from immigrant halls to large ballrooms.
This special program is being presented in conjunction with the quarterly exhibit “Music of the Little Balkans” hosted by J. T. Knoll. MHM is proud to display this quarterly exhibit.
Program begins at 2 p.m. (doors open at 1:45) and admission is free. We would appreciate a call if you plan to join us so we can plan for adequate seating (620-347-4220). Donations are accepted and appreciated. After the program you are welcome to view the quarterly exhibit.
