Eva M. Rexwinkle

Eva M. Rexwinkle, 87, of Edna, died at 8:22 p.m., Thursday, November 25, 2021, at her home.
She was born August 16, 1934, at Galesburg, to Charles and Emma (Dawson) Nelson. She grew up at Parsons and graduated from Parsons High School in 1952.
On December 18, 1954, she and Gordon L. Rexwinkle were married at the First Methodist Church in Parsons. Since 1963 they have made their home in Edna. Gordon preceded her in death on July 5, 2019.
Eva had worked as a cook and teacher’s aide at U.S.D. 506, at Stine Feeder Supply and for 20 years part-time at H and R Block. For seven years she was a librarian for the Edna Library. She was a member of the Edna United Methodist Church and was a 4-H leader for 15 years.
Eva is survived by a son, Mike Rexwinkle (Tammy) of Edna, a daughter, Lee Ann Lay (Nick) of Ochelata, OK, a grandson, Cody Lay; and a sister, Sharon Humphries of Beggs, OK. Also surviving are many relatives by marriage of the Rexwinkle family. Besides her husband, Gordon, she was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Charlene Goul, Norma Oxford, and Terry Joe Nelson, and a brother, Lennie Nelson.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the Edna United Methodist Church, with Rev. Yves Kinangwa officiating. Burial will be in the North Edna Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Edna United Methodist Church from 6 to 8 p.m, Tuesday. Memorials are suggested to the church or the Edna Library.
