Ethel Elizabeth Richardson
August 18, 1919 - April 19, 2022
Ethel Elizabeth Richardson, age 102, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at the Lawrence County Manor, in Mt. Vernon. She was born August 18, 1919, in Kokomo, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Birdie (Trowbridge) Overman.
Ethel was a 1938 graduate of Kokomo High School in Kokomo, Indiana. She graduated from Ozark Christian College in 1950 with a Bachelor in Sacred Literature, from Truman State University in 1970 with a Bachelor degree to teach High School English, and Missouri State University in 1975 with a Bachelor in Library Science. She was a Minister’s wife, teacher, homemaker, and a member of the Miller Christian Church.
On December 21, 1950, she married Harvey Earl Richardson, Jr. in Joplin, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2014.
Ethel is survived by her daughter, Beth Brown and her husband, Tim, of Miller; three sons, Harvey Richardson III and his wife, Norma, of Greenbrier, Tennessee, James Richardson and his wife, Judith, of Miller and John Richardson and his wife, Tina, of St. Charles, Missouri; ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Walter, and Birdie; her husband, Harvey; three brothers, Nathan, Alvin, and John Overman and four sisters, Dorothy Overman, Mildred Stoner, Jennie Sanders, and Mary Archer.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, in Miller. Burial will follow at the Dadeville Masonic Cemetery in Dadeville. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022, in the funeral home chapel.
