Early Friday January 17th – Wintry Mess to Start our Friday

Before we improve for the rest of the weekend

Good early Friday morning, everyone. We managed to stay dry for our Thursday. With the cloud cover holding tough, though, we were certainly cooler compared to the 50s and 60s we saw on Wednesday. Highs ranged from about 30 degrees in our northern counties to about 40 degrees in our southern counties while we stayed dry yesterday. As we went through yesterday afternoon and evening, we saw winter weather advisories and winter storm warnings go out for our area to get the weekend underway. The rain, freezing rain and sleet started working in last evening and will contribute to a messy start to our Friday. This storm system will be our primary focus for the blog this morning. Your latest look at this system, including the extended forecast into the middle of next week, is right below…

Don’t forget that Doug has your long range forecast based off his Heady Pattern through February down below.

Have a good Friday and let’s be careful on the roads in case any slick spots come up.

Nick
