Drive-by shooting suspect wanted in Pittsburg, may be armed
PITTSBURG, Kan. — Pittsburg Police have an arrest warrant for Steven Taylor Jr., 27, of Pittsburg. Authorities say he’s the alleged shooter in a drive-by that happened on December 26th, 2018. Police say he may be armed and should be considered dangerous. Taylor was last seen with a thin beard and mustache.
Officers responded to a home in the 400 block of North Water Street for a report of a drive-by shooting. Authorities received the call around 2:00 a.m. on December 26th, 2018.
According to police, when officers arrived they found the home had been hit multiple times by gun fire. There were people inside, but no one was injured.
Officers developed a description of the vehicle used in the shooting which was described as a white van. A short time after the initial call, officers found the possible suspect vehicle parked in the 300 block of East 17th Street. Officers also found a weapon on the ground near the vehicle. Authorities say the weapon and the vehicle were seized and are being processed at this time.
Police say initial indications from the investigation suggest this was not a random shooting, however, the investigation is ongoing.
