Donald W. Bray
March 10, 1946–September 9, 2019
Donald Wayne Bray, born March 10, 1946, in Joplin, MO, entered into eternal rest September 9, 2019, after a long illness. He lived in Joplin until moving to Texas in 1984. He always considered Joplin his home and returned for visits often over the decades. Don served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Georgia and Alaska during the 1960s. He was engaging and enjoyed joking banter, teasing and fun conversation. Because of this nobody was a stranger, and he was loved by those who knew him. Reuniting with his Joplin High School graduating class of 1964 was a highlight in the last few years. He greatly enjoyed getting to know everyone again after the 50th year class reunion.
Don will be missed tremendously by his wife of 53 years, Laura Bray, of Austin, TX. His four children and their spouses, Jeff and Marisa Bray, of San Antonio, TX, Dianne and Matthew Leavitt, of Little Elm, TX, Richard Bray of Austin, TX and Rocky and Angie Bray of Georgetown, TX. Seven grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Brittney, Dominic, Carissa, Emily and Lizzy and two great-grandchildren, Landon and Naomi. Don is also survived by three siblings, Raymond Bray and wife Yong, Marsha Crowder and husband Myke and Rebecca Rich. Also, surviving are several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many many friends.
Upon leaving his earthly body Don was greeted by his Lord and Savior as well as his parents, Oscar Richard and Dorothy Jean Bray, his sister Patricia Lou Willingham, brother-in-law William Lynn Rich, and he finally reunited with his twin brother Ronald Eugene Bray. He was also welcomed by many loved family members and friends who he had missed greatly over the years.
