Dolores Lacey

Dolores Mae Lacey, age 89, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

Dolores was born October 5, 1932 in Joplin, daughter of the late Paul Malcom Ash and Rose Mae (Sex) Ash.  She grew up in Joplin and graduated from Joplin High School before marrying Jesse Bull.  They had five children whom she dedicated her life to take care of them.  After the children were well into school age, she worked several jobs over the years from a cook with the Joplin R VIII School District, a manager and care giver with Norma’s Nursery, and she retired from Motorola after several years with them.  She was always involved with her children’s activities where she was a Den Mother for both the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts out of her home. She was also an active member of the Community of Christ.  Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going to their activities.  She was a great cook, and a joy to be around.  She will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to her parents, and her husbands Jesse Bull and Allen Lacey, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Paul Ash, William Ash, Dorothy Mullinex, James Ash, and Donald Ray Ash.

Survivors include her children, Steven C. Bull and wife Deanne, Douglas A. Bull and wife Lisa all of Joplin, Mark E. Bull and wife Sally of St. Paul, MN, Peggy L. Kephart and Deborah Kay Wingo and husband Bill also of Joplin; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; double first cousins, Becky Buck and husband Danny, and Roger Ash and wife Shirley all of Joplin, brother; David L.
