Deena Renee Boyd Mason
August 15, 1970 - November 4, 2022
Deena Renee Boyd Mason age 52, left our world on November 4th to join our Lord in Heaven after her battle with cancer.
Deena was born on August 15th, 1970 in Winfield, Kansas. She graduated from there.
She married Henry Whitestar in 1988, through this marriage they had 3 children, Matthew Whitestar, Lindsay Whitestar, and Taylor Whitestar. They divorced in 1995, on May 24th 1997, she married Robert Leon Mason Jr from Arkansas City, Kansas.
They lived and worked in Arkansas City, Kansas, Douglass Kansas, Amarillo, Texas, eventually moving to Goddard then to Wichita, Kansas.
Deena enjoyed the simple things in life, kayaking, fishing, camping, rock and roll, dirt road rides, “kicking up dust” flowers, naming all her plants. She loved everything outside. She had an easy laugh and enjoyed life.
Her favorite thing was spending time with her family, and mostly her grandkids. Deena worked at Premier Properties in Wichita, she loved her job and the people she worked with. She was driven and loved a challenge; she had great character and a wonderful personality. She was able to talk to anyone and always had a willing hand. Deena’s faith was strong and believed in the Word of God.
Deena was diagnosed with lung cancer in February of 2021. Right after losing her husband Robert to Covid in January. She fought hard for 2 years then she said she had had enough of chemo and said she preferred quality over quantity so she stopped the chemo knowing that her time was short. In September she chose to live with her parents in LaHarpe, Kansas until her passing.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert and her daughter Lindsay.
Those left behind are her parents Marilyn and Joe Boyd LaHarpe
Son, Matthew of Winfield, Daughter, Taylor and partner Louie of Mulvane, Step-Daughter Miranda Mason-Reeves and husband David, Brothers, Chad Boyd and wife Sarah, niece Arabella, Devon Boyd of Missouri, Sisters, Shelly Rubenich, and husband Todd of Wichita, Rachel Stewart and husband Doug of Iola, and bonus sister Shari Herron and husband Dustin.
Cremation has taken place, services will be announced at a later time.
