David Earl Ross

David Earl Ross, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Joplin Gardens.

David was born August 25, 1932 to the late union of Fredrick and Goldie (Adair) Ross. He married his first wife, Jo Ann Bryan, on December 22, 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Together they were blessed with 51 years before her passing on May 19, 2002. After some time, he married his second wife, Wilma Larson, in June of 2004 and together they spent 17 years before her passing this year. He enjoyed playing harmonicas, especially to old Jimmy Swaggart songs. He liked football, fishing, hunting, and driving his boat in his spare time. But, most importantly he loved God and loved spreading the word of Jesus Christ. He was a part of The Gideons International group that went out and spread the gospel to anyone and everyone that wanted to listen. He worked as a railroad conductor for the Eureka Springs train and was a salesman for most of his life. David was a family-oriented man and was always there to help whenever they needed it.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Goldie Ross; his first wife, Jo Ann Ross; second wife, Wilma Ross; sister, Carol Messer; step-dad, Howard Forkner; two grandchildren, Bryann Baird and Nick Ross; and one great-grandchildren, Knox Laurance.

David is survived by his four children, Cheri Myers, Karen Cowger, Davette Outt, and Doug Ross (Shelley); step-children, Cindy Herr and Mike Larson; grandchildren, Aaron Myers (Erin), Lauren Maggard (Adam), Michael Myers (Rebecca), Shane Cowger (Toni), Bryan Cowger (Lisa), Kasey Cowger (Leslie), Damon Outt, Jake Baird, and Jessica Laurance (Shay); sister, Juanita Forkner; brother-in-law, Steve Messer; cousin, but more like a brother, Aaron Adair; and two nieces, Susan Messer and Kim Fumagally.
