DaMitz highlights four PSU women to earn All-MIAA honors

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Pittsburg State sophomore Kaylee DaMitz has been named a 1st team All-MIAA selection, per league announcement on Tuesday.
DaMitz leads the league with 5.7 assists per game, while also scoring 13.5 points per night. This award comes after she was named MIAA Freshman of the Year last season.
DaMitz is not the only Pitt State women’s basketball player earning All-MIAA recognition on Tuesday. Sophomore Tristan Gegg was named 3rd team All-MIAA, while Athena Alvarado and Meghan Maher earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA status.
Gegg is the MIAA’s leading scorer, posting 18.5 points per game.
Missouri Southern had two players earn All-MIAA recognition on Tuesday, with Destiny Cozart and Chasidee Owens named Honorable Mention All-MIAA.
