Cunningham Park Death Investigation, Joplin Police say man was located near Trolley Stop
Joplin Police Capt William Davis says the death does not seem suspicious, however they are investigating.
JOPLIN, Mo. — About 7:20 a.m. Tuesday morning reports of person down on the sidewalk in the 2400 block of S Maiden Lane.
Capt William Davis of the Joplin Police Dept tells us a passerby noticed a man near the trolley stop and called 911.
On arrival officers located a middle-aged man deceased.
Flowers were placed where a man’s body was discovered Tuesday morning next to a trolley stop on South Maiden Lane in Joplin on July 26, 2022.

2400 S MAIDEN LANE IS MARKED WITH THE RED MARKER WHERE BODY LOCATED.
Initial investigation does not find it to be suspicious, no signs of obvious trauma, however Jasper County Coroner Randy Nace will investigate as well as JPD.

Nace arrived shortly after 8 a.m. to claim the body.
Identification has yet to be made.
The individual was familiar to people who talked to us on the scene. More than one neighbor said he was walking around earlier this morning, before 7 a.m. in the area.
