Crowder sends off softball team to compete in National Tournament

The Roughriders head to Arizona to compete in the National Tournament for the first time since 2013

NEOSHO, Mo. – Crowder College hosts a celebration and send off today for the softball team. The Roughriders are headed to Yuma, Arizona for the Junior College National Tournament. Crowder is 53-8 overall. They’re making their 11th all-time appearance in the tournament and first since 2013.

“We know we can compete at any level,” says head coach John Sisemore. “We play the toughest, hardest, largest schedule in the country every single year. When it comes down to the year end, if we can get to the post season, we know we can accept the challenge and meet the challenge at any given point.”

“Seeing the community here today, I think it’s going to help us boost our confidence and know what we’re going there for,” says pitcher Maura Moore. “We’re going down there to win and represent Crowder. I feel like we have something to prove and going to Nationals and winning a few games… I think it would be something great.”

The Bracket is scheduled to be released on Friday with the first round set for Tuesday.
