Crowder College celebrates 50 years

Crowder College hosted a community wide celebration for the college’s 50th birthday on Tuesday. Alumni, community supporters and business leaders attended the ceremony.

On this date in 1963 the election was held forming the Community College district of Newton and McDonald Counties.

“I want them to not lose this caring, serving attitude, and as long as we do that, whatever we do is going to be just fine,” says James Tatum of the Crowder Board of Trustees.

As part of the celebration guests were given tours, shown photographs of the college’s past and had a picnic lunch.
