Crawford County confirms first case of COVID-19

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Kan. – The Crawford County Health Department confirms the first positive case of novel coronavirus, referred to as COVID-19, within Crawford County.

The patient, who is only being identified as a child under the age of 5, is currently isolated and has not been hospitalized, according to the health department.

County health officials confirmed the first case early Monday morning, March 23, 2020.

Health officials have been in contact with the parents of the child and are working to identify any recent close contacts the child has had and those who may have been exposed will be contact as soon as possible.
