Crash on US 60 claims lives of 2 in Lawrence County

AURORA, Mo. – Police say two lives were claimed in a crash on US 60 in Aurora, Missouri.

The crash happened on Feb. 19, 2020, around 10:24 p.m. on US 60, just west of Lawrence 2210.

According to the Aurora Police Department, a pickup was traveling west when it hit a guardrail before the railroad bridge. The pickup then returned to the roadway and hit a sedan in the eastbound lane.

The driver of the pickup, Richard Gulliford, 92, of Monett, Mo., and the driver of the sedan, Samuel McChesney, 22, of Crane, Mo., both died at the scene.

The Police Department says there were no passengers in either vehicle at the time of the crash.
