Crash involving UTV claims the life of one in Delaware County

DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. – Police say the driver of a utility terrain vehicle died after failing to yield to oncoming traffic.

The crash occurred on July 9th at around 9:30 p.m. on US-4121 ALT and S 590 Rd.

The police report indicated Justin Evans, 27, was traveling westbound in a 2010 Hyundai Senata-Fe when he struck a 2016 Polaris Rzr that failed to yield at a stop sign.

Evans suffered no injuries and refused treatment on the scene, officers say. Polaris Driver Lonnie Bridges, 19, was not wearing a safety device and died at the scene according to the crash report. Polaris passenger Jada Jones, 18, was treated and released at Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, AR with head injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
