Crash in Joplin between car and motorcycle leaves one person dead

JOPLIN, Mo. — Police say one person is dead after a crash between a motorcycle and a car on June 19.

Officers responded to the intersection of 32nd St. and S. Mississippi Ave. at 3:09 p.m. for an injury crash. Their preliminary investigation found that a motorcycle, operated by 39-year-old Rayanday G. Ramirez of Joplin, was heading west on 32nd St.

A car was heading east and turned into the path of Ramirez’s motorcycle resulting in the crash. Ramirez was taken to the hospital but later died. The driver of the car was treated for minor injuries.
