Court Documents Received: Arson Charges in Cherokee County, KS
KOAM/FOX 14 receives court documents on two suspects charged with arson, burglary and criminal damage to property.
On July 24th, 2018, Baxter Fire responded to 144 SE Quaker in regards to hay bales being set on fire. According to documents, Sergeant Christopher Wren says when he arrived on scene, several hay bales were fully engulfed in the fire. He said Baxter Fire told him someone had been doing “donuts” in the field and that the door to the home was forced open.
A turning signal was found at the scene. Authorities tracked the model number back to a Ford Mustang which ranged from 2005 to 2009. During the investigation at the home, a call came in about an accident involving a Ford Mustang. Through further investigation, two suspects were identified, arrested and charged with the crime: Ronny Piercefield and Brian Wells.
