Country Place Living of Fort Scott celebrates Mother’s Day with a parade

Families showed support to loved ones while social distancing

FORT SCOTT, Kan. –  Residents at Country Place Living of Fort Scott were treated to a Mother’s Day drive-through parade Sunday morning.

Families drove through the parking lot of the senior living facility as they honked and waved to their loved ones, while practicing social distancing.

Country Place Living director Margaret Moyer says that even though residents can’t physically be with their family, seeing familiar faces helps during this difficult time.

“Right now they’re going through a lot of depression with the isolation and staying six feet apart. So being able to see a familiar face besides the staffing and other residents, you’re seeing your families and it helps with that depression,” adds Moyer.
