Cottey College ranked #1 for best regional college in the midwest
It is a recognition they knew they deserved but a ranking they never saw coming
NEVADA, Mo. – It is a recognition they knew they deserved but a ranking they never saw coming.
“What this does is to acknowledge the amazing educational opportunities made available to our students and it also recognizes the hard work of our faculty and staff to meet the needs of our students” said President of Cottey College, Jann Weitzel.
Cottey College was ranked the #1 college in the Midwest region in the US News and World Report annual rankings.
According to Cottey College officials, It is the first time that the college has been named #1 but is the fifth consecutive year they have been included.
“It leads to name recognition, these are regional awards but they are advertised nationally, so it gives students and their families from across the United States the opportunity to hear about Cottey, come to our website, learn more about us” added Weitzel.
She says the ranking also benefits the students.
“For our students and for our families, these recognition’s help them know they have chosen the right college.”
Sophomore Emily Goncalves moved from Arizona to Nevada Missouri just to attend Cottey College.
“It’s pretty clear based on our academia and our staff at Cottey knows what we want and they do everything they can to make our learning experience the best it can be.”
And seeing how well the liberal arts school is doing among the rest, has her confident in her choice to attend.
“I’m not going to lie, I knew Cottey was number one the moment I stepped foot on campus.”
