Convicted murderer pleads guilty to child molestation

UPDATED MAY 19, 2014: A convicted murderer has plead guilty to one count of child molestation and will serve 10 years in prison.

The incident occurred about one month after Olen Robinson was paroled. Robinson was arrested in February 2013 after an 11-year-old girl reported he had inappropriately touched her. Robinson was serving a 16-year sentenced for second-degree murder in the 1998 beating death of a man outside a bar in Springfield.

POSTED JUNE 7, 2013: A convicted murderer will stand trial in a child molestation case that allegedly occurred one month after he was paroled.

Olen Robinson waived the hearing Wednesday in Jasper County circuit court and was ordered bound over for trial.

Records show he’s charged with two counts of first-degree child molestation.

The 41 year old was arrested February after an 11-year-old girl reported he had inappropriately touched her.

Robinson was serving a 16-year sentenced for second-degree murder in the 1998 beating death of a man outside a bar in Springfield.
