Community raises money for recovering Oronogo fire chief

ORONOGO, Mo. – Plenty of people packed the fire station in Oronogo, Missouri Saturday which was hosting a benefit for Fire Chief Clay Arft.

Arft has been spending time in the hospital, and is currently recovering from a mysterious muscle illness.

Money was raised to help with his travel, rehab, and medical expenses through a barbecue, silent auction, and live auction.

One of the Ororonogo firefighters said that folks from all over the 4-State area came out to support the chief.

All of the food for the barbecue and auction items were donated, so all the money raised from the event went straight to the Arft family.
