Community Health Center CEO appointed to Sunflower Foundation Board of Trustees

TOPEKA – (May 23, 2014) – Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt today announced the appointment of Krista Postai of Pittsburg to the Sunflower Foundation Board of Trustees.

Postai is the president and CEO of the Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas. Prior to joining the Community Health Center, Postai was vice president of planning and development at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center. Under Postai’s leadership, the Community Health Center has become one of the largest safety-net clinics in Kansas. Postai is a fifth-generation Southeast Kansan. She attended Pittsburg State University and is a graduate of the University of Kansas.

Schmidt appointed Postai to a three-year term on the board, which will expire in June 2017.

The Sunflower Foundation was formed in 2000 as part of a settlement between Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, the Kansas attorney general and the Kansas insurance commissioner. The foundation supports work to improve the health of Kansans through grant programs, awards and related activities. The nine-member Board of Trustees governs the foundation’s work and oversees the long-term goals of the foundation. Eight of the members are appointed by the attorney general, and one member is appointed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.
