Columbus says goodbye to longtime city council member

The city of Columbus, Kansas is saying goodbye to a city council member who’s served the city for 19 years.

Councilman Steve Dunlap will be hanging up his hat on December 31st.

When he joined the council, his goal was to improve Columbus, and one of his biggest contributions was the work he put in to get the city swimming pool installed. The city of Columbus also credits Dunlap for bringing a new cable company to town, which has provided the city with a steady revenue stream.

When asked how he feels about Columbus in 2019, Steve said, “The city has never been in better shape. I am very pleased with the direction Columbus is going and we have all the tools we need in place right now to make our city grow.”
