Classroom Heroes Award honors Carl Junction teacher Anessa Taylor

Oct Winner

Congratulations to Anessa Taylor, October winner of the Classroom Heroes Award.

Between online and in-person classes, social distancing and wearing PPE in the classroom, teachers are now doing more than ever before. Each month, KOAM News Now and Landers Chevrolet Cadillac of Joplin is recognizing your Classroom Hero.

Anessa is a teacher in the staff daycare at Carl Junction PK/1 school.

The nomination said this about Anessa:

“She doesn’t make the greatest of incomes but decides to do one of the hardest jobs every single day.. loving and caring for kiddos that aren’t her own. She takes great pride in the job she does and continually works to build relationships with her families. These relationships extend outside of the paid work day, as she has many daycare families that use her in the evenings and weekends. Anessa is one of the ‘coolest under pressure’ people you’ll ever meet and even when the situation is rough, she always has a smile on her face. She is selfless and loves her daycare kiddos immensely! This award would bless her!”

Each month, we’ll select one teacher, who is nominated by a peer, parent or student. The winning teacher and his or her school will receive $500 and a basket of school supplies.

At the end of the semester, you get to vote on which of our Classroom Heroes wins $2,500 and a trophy.
