City of Pittsburg Economic Gardening Lunch – August 22

PITTSBURG, KS – Wednesday, August 22, from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, The City of Pittsburg and Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce will host an informational lunch meeting focusing on the Kansas Economic Gardening program. The meeting will be held at City Hall, 201 W. 4th Street, Pittsburg.

“Economic gardening” is an economic development strategy that concentrates on growing the local economy from within. This approach focuses on strengthening existing companies, businesses and organizations in Pittsburg.

The program is designed to provide significant technical assistance to second-stage companies that have the intent and capacity to grow their business. Second-stage companies are those past the start-up phase, but which have not reached full maturity. Progressive Products and PRG Prototyping are just a couple of the Pittsburg businesses that utilized the Economic Gardening program in the past.

Thanks to a partnership between the State of Kansas and the City of Pittsburg, businesses can participate in the program free of charge. Participants will receive up to 40 hours of technical assistance as part of this agreement.
