City employee sues Fort Scott over discrimination, other allegations
FORT SCOTT, Kan. – A Fort Scott, Kansas employee files a lawsuit against the City.
According to the lawsuit, Rachel Pruitt alleges sexual discrimination, harassment and retaliatory conduct of employees with the City. It also claims the City Commission has failed to properly investigate, address and remedy the situation.
Pruitt is the Economic Director for Fort Scott. She started that position in 2016.
The lawsuit claims her work for the City was “unremarkable until January 2020” when Kevin Allen took office as a City Commissioner.

Pruitt is facing charges of marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia. In the lawsuit, she claims these are due to a bogus arrest related to the harassment.
She has requested a trial by jury.
