Christmas Eve 2019 – Mild holiday before rain moves back in
Possibly a Christmas for the record books
JOPLIN, Mo. — Good Tuesday evening, everyone. The weather wasn’t frightful on this Christmas Eve. It was certainly breezy and mild, though. The clouds and the wind from last night only allowed us to drop back into the lower 40s this morning. Even though we had some high clouds come and go across the area today, the south wind sent us back into the upper 60s this afternoon. The clouds will continue to move along, but we’ll keep the radar below quiet for Santa and local/regional travel tonight…
With the cloud cover and the southerly wind staying with us tonight, we’ll stay chilly as we head into Christmas morning. With the same setup for Christmas Day, our partly to mostly sunny skies and south wind will send us back into the upper 60s. That possibly could make this Christmas one of the warmest on record. After the holiday, our attention will turn to returning rain chances (and maybe a little snow as well). Your latest look at the next several days is down below…
Don’t forget that Doug has your long range forecast out through February 1st down below.
Have a good night, a great Wednesday and a Merry Christmas!
