Childrens Advocacy Center: A conversation with advocate Theresa Cassidy
PITTSBURG, Kan. — Jesse goes to the Children’s Advocacy Center in Pittsburg to talk with Theresa Cassidy about what it means to be an advocate.
The Children’s Advocacy Center provides resources and help to children going through abuse. They will help the children and their families as the trial and investigations of abuse are underway, providing therapy or any resource that may help them through their difficult times.
The Children’s Advocacy Center is hosted in a house to help provide a comfortable setting for kids before they have to have hard conversations with detectives about their abuse. They provide toys and time to allow the kids to grow comfortable and acclimated.
While the child is being interviewed, Theresa will walk the rest of the family through the process. She is there to listen, help, and answer any questions the family or a child may have.
