Arkansas man killed in wreck less than a day after a crash kills three

DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. – An Arkansas man dies following a single vehicle wreck in Delaware County, Oklahoma.

it happened just after 2:30 p.m. Monday on the Cherokee Turnpike about a mile east of Leach, Oklahoma. Police say 29-year-old Rene Munoz of Springdale, Arkansas was driving west when his vehicle left the right side of the road, striking an embankment.

Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s the second fatal crash on the Cherokee Turnpike this week. On Sunday night, about 15 miles west a vehicle carrying six people crashed near Locust Grove, Oklahoma. That wreck killed 44-year-old Emilia Cruz and two juveniles and left three others critically injured.

There’s no word yet on the cause of either of the crashes.
