Celebrating 55 years on the job at Freeman

A Freeman Health System employee was surprised Thursday with a celebration for serving 55 years of employment.

On March 21, 1958 Ladean Reed started working in accounting at what would eventually become Freeman Neosho Hospital.

Her coworkers planned a surprise reception to honor that milestone.

Reed is now a receptionist for Freeman Physician Reimbursement and says the years have been great.

“It’s been a phenomenal 55 years and it doesn’t seem like 55 years at all,” says Reed. “I would say that it’s been a wonderful career field for both me and my family.”

When Reed started “Gunsmoke” was a TV show hit and Elvis was still blaring over the radio.
