Economist predicts slowdown in Oklahoma's oil industry

An Oklahoma economist who studies the state's energy industry predicts a significant slowdown in the coming year as a result of falling crude oil prices.    Dr. Russell Evans released his regular Energy Index report that shows the first energy industry decline in eight months. The index measures the state's oil and gas industry and is a joint project of researchers at Oklahoma City University and industry trade groups.

Oklahoma teacher accused of sex crime with a minor

School district officials in Oklahoma say they were "shocked and saddened" to learn a high school teacher has been arrested on allegations that he solicited sex with a minor.    Fifty-three-year-old Charles David Heaverin, a social studies  teacher at Santa Fe High School in Edmond, was arrested Monday and taken to the Oklahoma County jail on a charge of using technology to engage in sexual communication with a minor.    A police report says the victim's father found messages and photos on a...
