Carthage’s Maple Leaf Festival is still a go, but with changes

Carthage, Mo. – The Carthage Chamber of Commerce says the city’s 54th Annual Maple Leaf Festival will go on this year, but there will be some key changes.  The month-long celebration kicks off October 1st.  The biggest change is the parade and band festival are both cancelled for 2020. The chamber says a lack of entry participants and travel restrictions for the many schools in the area resulted in a lack of schools being able to compete. Another change you’re likely to notice is the placement of vendor booths. The chamber says vendor booth spaces including concessions, art & crafts, and non-profit groups will be positioned around the entire perimeter of the Square and and will even extend off the Square to ensure social distancing.
