Carthage man killed following a wreck with a parked truck

CARTHAGE, Mo. – Missouri Highway Patrol says a wreck five miles east of Carthage, Missouri left one dead and another seriously injured.

Around 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening 78-year-old James Robinson and his passenger 55-year-old Terry Abernathy, both of Carthage, were heading north County Road 80 when they hit a truck parked on the roadway. Both were taken to the hospital where Abernathy was pronounced dead. Robinson suffered serious injuries.

This was Missouri Highway Patrol Troop D’s 2nd fatality of 2021.
