UPDATE: Carthage Police release the victim’s name from Tuesday nights shooting
Victim found between Daisy Court Apartments and Arvest Bank
UPDATE: According to the Carthage Police Department, The victim has been identified as 30-year-old John C. Morgan of Carthage.
A suspect has been taken into custody and is awaiting formal charges.
We will have more information as it becomes available.
CARTHAGE, Mo. – Carthage Police Department investigates a murder Tuesday night after finding a Carthage man dead in an alley.
Authorities say they received a 911 call at 8:54 p.m. about gunshots in the 100 block of North Garrison Street. When officers arrived they found the 30-year-old victim in the alley between the Daisy Court Apartment Complex and Arvest Bank. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators began canvasing the neighborhood for witnesses and processing the scene of the crime. They are still investigating, but officers do not believe there’s any danger to the public
“We do believe this is an isolated incident involving individuals that know each other,” said Carthage Officer Chad Dininger who was at the scene of the crime. “(They) were either residents or visitors here. ”
There’s now word yet on any whether any arrests have been made. Carthage Police are not releasing the victim’s name at this time.
