Pittsburg, Kansas: Carlos Bradfield, age 90, passed away at 7:40 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2021 at his home following ill health.

Mr. Bradfield was born March 18, 1931 in Parsons, KS. His parents were Carlos Bradfield Sr. and Mattie (Cook) Bradfield. He was the third of 8 children with 3 brothers and 4 sisters. They are all deceased now except for one sister, Louise Romine, LaCygne, KS. who is 103. He had lived in Pittsburg the past 35+ years, moving from Parsons, KS.

Carlos met the love of his life, Ruth L. Sprecher in high school and they were married on August 6, 1950 in Oswego, KS. for 70 years.

Carlos was an educator for 26 years, a psychologist and psycho therapist for 27 years. He loved working with people. He was a teacher in a one room school house, worked for the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center in Parsons for 10 years and at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Pittsburg for many years. He earned three degrees from Kansas State College of Pittsburg, now known as Pittsburg State University.

Carlos was of the Methodist faith. He was a huge fan of the Pitt State Gorillas, KU Jayhawks and KC Chiefs. He was very family oriented and was an avid fan of his grandchildren’s activities.

Grandson, Todd Horton (Anne) of Overland Park, KS.
Grandson, Christopher Horton of East Orange, New Jersey
Grandson, Darren Bradfield ( Laura) of Atchison, KS
Great Granddaughters, Kate Horton, Lucy Bradfield and Josie Bradfield.

A Son, David Bradfield, preceded him in death in 2011.
