CARL JUNCTION, Mo. – Carl Junction sophomore Logan Jones entered the record books on Wednesday night.

Jones finished with 38 assists Wednesday night in the team’s district championship win over Webb City, helping her claim the school’s single-season assists record.

“She’s in the gym a lot,” says Carl Junction head coach Cheryl Sharples, “She’s always taking a lot of reps and making herself better, and she’s a great student of the game. She understands the game and what she needs to do to make her hitters successful.”

Jones now has 859 assists this season for Carl Junction in 87 sets played.

The previous record was set by Bradyn Wall. Wall racked up 851 in 91 sets played in 2013-2014.

“Logan is such a hard worker. She’s an amazing setter,” says Carl Junction senior Salma Lewis, who topped 1,000 career kills earlier this season, “I’m so lucky to have her as my setter. We definitely couldn’t pull it off without her.”

Carl Junction topped Webb City 3-0 on Wednesday night to claim the Class 4 District 11 title.
