Carl Junction day camp raising money for student fighting leukemia
A group of youngsters with the Spinning Wheel Summer Day Camp are helping out one of their friends, and they are not shy about showing how much they care for their friend.
The group of kids are raising money selling lemonade and a number of other beverages and snacks for Domonic Ramsey. Eight year-old Domonic is a third grader at Carl Junction Elementary and is fighting leukemia.
Doctors diagnosed him after his parents took him to the doctor for a fever.
He will have to do chemotherapy treatments for three years, traveling to Springfield and Memphis.
“All the money will go to him and his family for whatever they need the money for,” says Karrie Anderson, the Director of the Spinning Wheels Summer Day Camp. “I have my kids out here helping. We’re going to try to raise some money for him.”
Anderson says even though each drink is only $1, the kids have already raised more than $340.
