Cardinal Scale gets bigger for its workers
WEBB CITY, Mo. — U.S. Senator Roy Blunt was in the area Friday to celebrate an expansion of Webb City’s Cardinal Scale.
The scale manufacturer has connected three buildings. Officials tell KOAM they outgrew their old locations and had employees scattered throughout the city. The new locations solve those problems.
Officials also say two of the buildings have some historical significance.
“There are 3 connected buildings here. It doesn’t look that way from the outside. Two of the building were built in 1891 and the third was built in 1907, and so we have come in, we have gutted those and completely modernized them while still preserving the historic integrity of the building,” said Cardinal Scale’s Jonathan Sabo.
Cardinal Scale was started in 1950 in the founder’s garage which is just a block away from the new headquarters.
