Car raffle to benefit St. Mary’s Catholic Church construction costs
A raffle giveaway of a 2013 Dodge Challenger SXT Plus will go towards covering construction costs at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
The vehicle was donated anonymously and has a sticker price of more than $30,000.
Coordinators plan to convert the two door black vehicle into $100,000 in cash by selling a maximum of 2,000 raffle tickets at $50 each.
Construction of the new St. Mary’s church location is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
Organizers say the raffle proceeds will help cover construction expenses.
“It’s beneficial because with any project, there are cost overruns and unanticipated cost needs, so this will help finance that endeavor,” said Denny Desmond, coordinator.
The raffle is scheduled for October 16 during the Third Thursday event in downtown Joplin.
