Car overturns in collision near Downtown Joplin

Pickup and car collide at 4th and Moffett, driver was wearing seat belt, avoiding serious injury
Car overturns in crash with pickup just off downtown Joplin near 4th and Moffett on Monday morning October 10, 2022.

JOPLIN, Mo. — About 9:30 a.m. Monday reports of a two vehicle crash near 4th and Moffett, one overturned in the roadway, alerted Joplin E-911.

Joplin Fire Dept, Joplin Rescue, Joplin Police and METS ambulance responded.

600 block of W 4th in the shadow of the Olivia Apt Building. 

On scene in the 600 block west 4th we learn a passenger car traveling east collided with a pickup truck that entering the intersection northbound at Moffett.

Ofc Josh Dykstra tells KOAM’s Shannon Becker no one was injured in the crash. The female driver who overturned declined medical care.

The driver of the pickup was not injured.

Cottrill’s Towing removed both vehicles from the crash scene, just west of Downtown, in the shadow of the Olivia Apt Building.

The driver of the passenger car was wearing her seat belt avoiding serious injury in the crash witnesses tell us who ran to assist saying her belt wouldn’t release at first, but she was able to get out on her own.

The roadway was cleared to all traffic in about 50 minutes.
