C.O. “Buddy” Newton, 83, of rural St. Paul, Kansas passed away at 5:07 p.m., on Thursday, June 23, 2022 surrounded by his family.
Buddy was born on May 25, 1939 in Dewey County, Oklahoma to Harley and Gussie Newton.
Buddy worked for the MKT Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years retiring in 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Newton, of the home. Other survivors include three sons, James Newton (Linda) of Trezevant, TN, Paul Newton (Charlene) of Mounds, OK, Tracy Kelley of White Oak, OK; two daughters, Tammie Harris (Jerry) of Welch, OK and Tricia Julich (Mike) of Altamont, KS; sister, Ina Mae Bowser (Jerry) of Yukon, OK; Buddy was the best Pop/Poppa Bud to fourteen grandchildren, Jacob (Liz), Joshua (Jessie), Jeff, Tiffany (Brian), Sheena, Steven (Amanda), Nick, Kari (Mark), Kim, Emily, Clayton (Kristen), Cody (Brooke), Tyler (Chaneya), Kaysha (Jeffery); and twenty-eight great grandchildren.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, a brother, Leroy Newton and a son Timmy Kelley.
Per Buddy’s request there will be no memorial service. A private family burial will take place at a later time at Swars Prairie Church of Christ Cemetery in Seneca, Missouri.
