RELEASE FROM PITTSBURG STATE ATHLETICS:
PITTSBURG — Grant Lozoya hit a buzzer beating 3-point field goal from a step inside half court to lift the Pittsburg State University men’s basketball team to a 77-76 victory over the University of Central Oklahoma Saturday (Dec. 8) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
The Gorillas (7-1, 2-0 MIAA) led by 11 points, 55-44, with 14:57 to play in the game but the Broncho (5-4, 0-2 MIAA) stormed back down the stretch to lead 76-73 with 5.2 seconds remaining.
Lozoya was fouled and made one of two free throws with four seconds to go and UCO’s Ashford Golden left the door open for Pitt State by missing the front end of a one-and-one with 2.8 seconds left.

Demetrius Levarity inbounded the ball to Lozoya in backcourt and he drove frantically toward half court then leapt over UCO’s Adarius Avery and fired the game-winning shot.
