Brightening spirits with chalk
A Joplin neighborhood came together on Sunday, bringing some positivity and fun to their community during this scary time by using chalk sticks.
Residents in the Oak Pointe subdivision decorated their driveways with chalk. They created positive messages and uplifting and funny pictures.
The neighborhood event was done as a way to get people out in the fresh air while interacting from afar.
“We can either drive around our neighborhood and look at each others messages or take walks. It’s just a fun way to have community and still keep our distance,” said organizer Elana Liu.
The chalk artists had until noon to get their messages and drawings completed.
