Box truck overturns, blocking both lanes I-44 near Sarcoxie
The westbound lanes were halted for nearly two hours and traffic stretched three miles.
JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — About 12:30 a.m. early Monday morning Jasper County Emergency 911 were alerted to reports of a large truck overturned on I-44 near 28MM, blocking both westbound lanes.
Sarcoxie Rural Fire, Jasper County Deputies, and Mercy Carthage responded. The Missouri State Highway Patrol were notified.
On scene we learn the driver was not injured.
M&M Wrecker was summoned to remove the large box truck, that was carrying about 20,000 pounds.
All traffic was stopped in the westbound lanes which totaled about 3 miles.
About 2:15 a.m. the box truck was able to be set upright and cleared one lane of traffic to pass. Soon thereafter both lanes were clear.
