Boone County Ark. Sheriff’s Office investigates potential murder-suicide

BOONE COUNTY, Ark. – Deputies investigate a potential murder-suicide that occurred in Boone County, Ark.
At nearly 7:30 am on Saturday, April 2nd, dispatch alerted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office of a fire at 6512 Cave Creek Road.
When law enforcement and firefighters arrived, the house was engulfed in flames, according to the incident report.
Upon further investigation, deputies say they discovered 56-year-old property owner William Len Minyard, Jr. with gunshot wounds in a garage separate from the house.
EMS then transported Minyard to UAMS in Little Rock, but officers say he will likely not survive the injuries.
Potential murder-suicide
While on the scene, officers began searching for Minyard’s wife, 52-year-old, Linda Minyard.
Boone County Deputies were familiar with Linda, who they say worked as an employee of the Boone County Jail.
According to records, Linda was on her way home after clocking out of work
Records also show that Linda had a current protection order against William.
Human remains found
The Valley Springs Fire Department then discovered human remains while extinguishing the fire, according to the report.
The medical examiner’s office will analyze the body recovered to determine positive identification and cause of death.
Boone County Deputies say all indications point toward a tragic ending of the relationship between the two, however, The investigation of the evidence collected will determine the final result of the case
