Boil water advisory remains for town of Cherokee

water main break causes problems in town of Cherokee

Officials in Cherokee, Kansas say there was a water main break on Buckeye Street on Friday.

A boil water advisory has been issued for Cherokee until further notice.

City officials say the city water tower is draining, but there are reserves available for residents so a water shortage should not be a concern.

The Cherokee County rural Water District Number 5 is also under this boil water advisory. The boil water advisory is expected to be cleared early next week.
